Mike Gooding
A graduate of Seale Hayne Agricultural College, Mike has followed a professional career in agricultural including the management of commercial farming operations, research and development, agricultural accountancy and finance; marketing and public relations. Experienced in the livestock sector and food processing, has worked with some of the World’s leading food brands. He is a Director of Farmers First, a farmer co-operative that processes 10% of the UK’s lambs.
He is Chairman of RAFT Solutions a veterinary-led close-to-market research, advanced breeding, food futures consultancy and training company based in Ripon. RAFT provides defined services in R&D in key livestock skills and animal health and welfare developments to deliver its core mission of innovation in sustainable food production.
As a former Chairman of the Oxford Farming Conference and a judge in the BBC Food and Farming Awards, he is particularly interested in how society sees agriculture and the countryside.
