He works closely with business owners and management teams in the personal care and beauty sectors, as well as supporting financial sponsors, whether that be the generation of off-market opportunities, buy-side advice or maximising value in sales processes.

Recent deals include advising Piper on its investment in Neom Organics.

As the co-founder of a specialist M&A advisor, Matthew has advised many multi-national and private owners of household, personal care and beauty assets globally, including the sales of market-leading brands including Bulldog, REN Skincare, Batiste Dry Shampoo and Liz Earle.

Matthew held positions at PwC and Close Brothers Corporate Finance, where his focus was on the consumer products, travel, food and pubs sectors advising privately owned businesses, mid-market private equity and major public companies divesting non-core divisions.  

Matthew graduated with a degree in law from King’s College, London before qualifying as a chartered accountant with PwC.

He has a wife and two young children who keep him busy outside of work, fitting in training when possible to maintain the last memories of sporting prowess.
